This Applet will tell you what your server is sending for MIME types and what it should be. If you discover errors in the what it server is sending, notify the ISP. If you discover errors in what the MIME type should be, notify me.

This Applet requires one of the following up-to-date browsers:

Opera Opera 7.5 with the Java 1.4.2_04 Plug-in
Mozilla Mozilla 1.6 with the Java 1.4.2_04 Plug-in
Netscape Netscape 7.1 with the Java 1.4.2_04 Plug-in
IE Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0.2800 with the Java 1.4.2_04 Plug-in
Get Java Sun's Java 1.4.2_04 Plug-in add on
Click the corresponding browser icon to download the latest browser software
If this Applet does not work, check the Java console. You may have very old version of Java or none at all. If it does work, look for the java-version line in the mimecheck scrolling window to tell you the precise version of Java you are running.

You need Java to run MimeCheck

You should be able to run this just by clicking OK to the certificate, but if you have trouble you may have to install my code signing certificate in your cacerts certificate repository. To do this just click install and follow your nose. If that does not work, you can install it manually:
  1. Download my X.509 RSA certificate mindprodcert.cer.
  2. Then import it into you cacerts files with the following commands:


    view

    The password is changeit.

  3. Restart your browser and try the Mimecheck Applet again.
  4. You can also modify your policy file to give automatic permission.
  5. Alternatively you can download Mimecheck and run it as an application.
