slipstreaming: Microsoft installations are usually two-part. You must install the base OS then apply the latest fixpack. The master CDs you buy don't have the latest fixpack already installed. With Windows 2000 there is now a technique officially known as "integrated installation" and unofficially known as slipstreaming to install the OS and apply the latest fixpack all in one step.
