RealAudio: A technique that lets radio stations broadcast digitally to the entire planet using the Internet. You need a sound card and the RealAudio plugin to Netscape to receive the broadcasts. The technology is still primitive. Every listener gets sent his own private copy of the broadcast. The sound breaks up frequently because the Internet cannot deliver the information fast enough. It can also be used to deliver music samples, and spoken recordings.
