Nigerian 419 Letter Scam

An Internet email con. You receive an email from some official in Nigeria who wants to smuggle money out of the country and wants borrow you bank account to deposit multi-millions temporarily for a generous fee.

The scam is that they require small amounts of money for bribes etc. to further this along while the main money is locked up. After being bled bit by bit the people conned eventually catch on they will never get any money. TANSTAFL!

419 is the name of the Nigerian statute that bans the practice.
