metadata: Literally data about data. So in JDBC/SQL, metadata includes the names of the columns and their types. In digital photography, embedded in the image can be metadata facts such as date and time of the shot, camera type, shutter speed, whether the flash fired, etc. With JPEG, you can extract his data with libraries such as Exif or PicL
