MAJC
Microprocessor Architecture for Java Computing (pronounced Magic). Sun's new architecture is designed to be particularly scalable (multiple cpus), to run JITs efficiently, and to handle DSP and SIMD (vector) applications. See the pdf tutorial. One interesting feature is hardware saturation computing. MAJC also speculatively executes entire routines in parallel even if they belong to the same thread. It works by dynamically creating a separate stack for speculative executed methods and tracking the use of variables shared with the main execution stream.
