jProf: An open-source profiler for Java written in C++. It requires the JVMPI interface to work. There are currently versions for Windows and Solaris. Very simple to get going. Just run the bat file, fill in the directory and class. No releases sinc 1999. Does not appear to work with Java 1.4.
