java.home
java.home is a system property that describes where the JRE is. It would normally have a value such as: C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_04 which is the shorthand DOS name of for the JRE directory. You can discover it in your program with:

String home = System.getProperty( "java.home" );

It is also wise to set up a JAVA_HOME environment variable to C:\Program Files\Java\j2re1.4.2_04 if you have just the JRE installed or J:\j2sdk1.4.2_04 if you have the JDK installed.
