decorated

When Swing talks about decorating a JDialog, it does not mean putting pictures of bunnies all around the edges. It refers to whether JDialog or JFrame has a title bar for close, minimize and maximize button. You can turn it off with setUndecorated ( true ); You need to do this in the constructor before it becomes displayable.

Controlling The Title Bar

It would be nice if you could independently hide the various elements of a JFrame, the border, the title bar, the close button, the minimize button, the maximize button, the resizing grab points. It is not quite that easy. However, you do have the following tools.

Unfortunately, the setBorder command only works on JPanels.
